We only source our meat from our local area. We do not use intensivley farmed amimals and ensure that all our meat is bought direct from small local farms, run by farmers who care. We us free range,outdoor reared and rare breed where possible.
Our ducks, geese and chickens are from free range suppliers.
Beef comes from local farms and is exceptional.
Lamb comes from Husthwaite all grass fed.
Venison and game from Hawnby estates.
We are gluten free compliant and have customers who travel from afar to buy our award winning gluten free sausages and black puddings. We only use quality meat, fresh spices and natural skins in the sausage. Flavours vary but we always make traditional Yorkshire, beef and horseradish, garlic and fennel. Each week we try to have a special sausage on, game (pheasant and venison), merguez,Toulouse. Call for details.
Our herbs and spices come from a small family run spice mill, Laycocks, in West Yorkshire.
In all we go to great lengths to ensure our products are of the highest quality and made from the very best produce sourced from Yorkshire.
We also stock a selection of Thorntons Pies which are delivered fresh daily.

We have White Park cattle beef through out the year. Extremely rare and exceptional meat. Please always call to enquire or book as this is extremly popular.

Venison. We only buy venison from Hawnby Estate - 8 miles away and direct from the game keepers. Usually fallow but sometimes Roe. In season now, why not try our venison sausage. Food miles 8

Our bacon is completely made on site by us. The pork is butchered,cured,smoked and dried in-house using traditional, tried and tested techniques. We specify the standards required to our suppliers and use a combination of Welsh, Saddleback cross and Gloucester Old Spot cross to get the perfect products to work with.
Our bacon does not shrink on cooking, crisps beautiful and makes the best bacon butties ever.

Hovingham black pudding: Winner of a silver award at the British Charcuterie Awards 2018. Our adaptation of an Elizabethan recipe this truly unique black pudding has converted many a black pudding hater. A delicious combination of herbs and spices, fruit, gammon and back fat. Can be eaten with egg or crumbled into a salad. Sold to high end restaurants and delis. ( see picture above Worsley Arms Hotel Hovingham)
Apple: Our take on a French Boudin Noir, flavoured with apple, cinnamon and a little clove.
Traditional: flavoured with herbs and pepper and back fat. Very popular with our customers.
All black puddings are available as blocks (approx 2 kg) or in slices.
